Recently, Chandigarh police have detained 11 miscreants for illegal gambling and also recovered a cash of INR 2.21 lakh from Hotel Solitaire after getting an anonymous tip-off.
The eleven persons who were taken into custody included the hotel manager as well. The police received a tip-off from an unknown source that a gambling racket to be held in the hotel, NAC, Mani Majra. An amount of Rs 2.21 lakh in cash was also recovered from the accused culprits. The police revealed the details of the accused, and they were identified as Anil Kumar, Kunal, Bhupinder Singh, Sandeep Kumar, Vishal, Jugal Kishore, Kuldeep Chand, Vikram, Goppi, Raj Kumar and Surinder Kumar. They were arrested red-handed while gambling at room number 106 of the hotel. Kuldeep is the manager of the hotel. The police said they had secret information about illegal activity at the hotel. Apart from the cash, two pairs of cards were recovered too from their possession. A case under the Gambling Act and the IPC has been registered against all those assailants at the Mauli Jagran police station.
