Mumbai based mobile gaming company Nazara Technologies have joined with Bengaluru based InstaSportz, to take on the offline VR Gaming industry in India with a storm. InstaSportz specializes in giving their audiences an experience like they have never felt before in the virtual world through their state-of-the-art VR Gaming kiosks known as Instazones across the country.
With a partnership with Carnival Cinemas, InstaSportz has made their presence known to Kota, Ludhiana, Calicut, Bengaluru, etc by setting up 100-sq-ft kiosks at key landmarks in malls, multiplexes and now with the investment from Nazara Technologies, InstaSportz aims to reach out to all Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities across India.
Speaking of which to the press, InstaSportz founder, Bigith Nambiar said, “With Nazara technologies as our allies we aim to take over the entire virtual industry in India at first. Nazara Technologies is present in 61 countries and we believe that with strategic partnership with the local companies, we aim to reach out to other emerging global markets. “
It is estimated that the gaming industry in India is worth more than $360 million dollars, according to a report published by Google KPMG in May 2017. India even holds approximately 13% of the world’s online mobile gaming industry which puts India on the top five countries in the world to be involved in online gaming industry. India even saw a rise in the Indian gaming startups increasing from 20 to 250 in just five years, according to a report by Frost and Sullivan in 2017.
It’s not going to subtle as Nazara’s investment in InstaSportz is an open challenge to all the major players in the offline virtual gaming industry which includes Smaaash, Sachin Tendulkar backed VR gaming and entertainment company, among many others like Passion Gaming, Loco, RedMonsterGames, etc.
Quoting on which, Manish Agarwal, CEO of Nazara Technologies, “Our aim is to provide interactive entertainment to our users with an amalgamation of sports, arcade gaming and virtual reality for all age groups. By tying up with InstaSportz, we are pushing our boundaries to reach out to more gamers across the country through our various touch points. We have made investments in other gaming companies like Moong Labs, HalaPlay, MasterMind Sports and CrimzonCode before investing in InstaSportz for the same purpose.”
