A raid produced by Mumbai crime branch in DN Nagar area (Andheri) has helped the police to arrest the brother-in-law of prominent Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal. Amit Gill was arrested under the gambling act and forgery for allegedly placing bets. The Cricket betting racket case accused is set to present in the days to come.
His lawyer argued in court and demanded that Gill should not be sent to police custody. “Gill can’t be separated from his earlier charges. So he should be given police custody,” public prosecutor then opposed. The crime branch police have also arrested three other bookies for an illegal involvement in India vs Sri Lanka one-day match. Two more suspects have been nabbed during the investigation.
While questioning, the crime branch police came to know that one of the accused had provided BINGO software to the arrested bookies. He is software professional. The software provided by the software professional was used to get other people to place their bets.
