Windies tour of India, 2018
India vs Windies, 3rd ODI | IND vs WI WHO WILL WIN
After playing out a thrilling tie at Vizag, the caravan of ODI series moves on to the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
India get Bumrah-Bhuvi boost; Windies aim for yet another competitive display
After lacklustre showing by the reserve fast bowlers, India has called back their premier fast bowling duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah while Mohammad Shami has been omitted from the squad.
The build-up to second ODI at Vizag was around Virat Kohli’s remarkable feat of reaching 10,000 runs.
Kohli did that in some style by stroking a masterly 157 in sapping conditions at Vizag to become the fastest to achieve the landmark.
This was Kohli’s fifth ODI hundred this year in 11 games and the Indian also became the fastest to reach 1,000 runs in a calendar year.
But despite Kohli’s monumental innings, India only posted 6-321 as the middle-order could not stick around and stitch along a partnership with Kohli. Both Dhoni (20) and Pant (17) got starts but were unable to kick on, something India would hope they get more out of the duo as the countdown to the 2019 World Cup starts.
But, India’s bowling nearly overshadowed Kohli’s landmark day as in the absence of Bumrah and Bhuvi, the lack of variations by Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami meant Hetmeyar (94) and Shai Hope 9123) nearly gatecrashed Kohli’s party.
The duo racked up a blistering 143-run stand and at one stage it looked like the Windies would script a major upset. However, an underwhelming performance by the lower-middle order meant India came back into the game thanks to some intelligent bowling by Chahal and Shami at the death to eventually force a tie.
After a lop-sided Test series, Windies have managed to turn a corner by posting 320 plus totals in both games but the addition of Bumrah and Bhuvi will provide another stern test to their batsmen making it a mouth-watering encounter.

From Windies, you may opt for Shimron Hetmeyar (94), and Marlon Samuels, who is yet to get going in the series.
All-rounders – Ravindra Jadeja, Rovman Powell and Ashley Nurse (2-46) can be safe bets with both bat and ball.
Bowlers –Jasprit Bumrah (7 wickets in Asia Cup) makes his comeback to the side and remains a trump card for Kohli. Kuldeep Yadav (3-67) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1-63) pulled things back beautifully in the last game.
