Mzansi Super League, 2018
Jozi Stars vs Tshwane Spartans, Match 13 | JOZ vs TST WHO WILL WIN
The 13th match of the 2018 Mzansi Super League will see Jozi Stars lock horns with Tshwane Spartans in what promises to be a riveting encounter at the Supersport Park in Centurion.
Both sides look towards their lacklustre batting for revival in fortunes
It will be a crucial encounter for both sides, more so for the de Villiers-led Tshwane Spartans as they find themselves in a desperate situation after having lost three of the four matches thus far.
They dropped Sikander Raza, Andrew Birch and Rory Kleinveldt against the Bay Giants- a game which they eventuality lost by 7 runs (DLS method). Spartans’ prime problem has been the lacklustre performance of their batting unit. The sole game that they won was due to their batting putting up a formidable total on the scoreboard. They rely heavily on Giahahn Cloete, de Villiers and Theunis de Bruyn.
Cloete is one the leading run scorers of the tournament with two fifties while de Villiers has looked out of colour in the last two games. The bowling unit looks settled with Lutho Sipmala (3-29) and Jeevan Mendis (4-22) spearheading the attack, but they’ll want a bit more from their batters if they want to revive their fledgeling fortunes the tournament.
Jozi Stars, on the other hand, made a couple of tactical changes in their last game against Cape Town Blitz; they let go of Nono Pongolo and all-rounder Willem Ludwick to make way for the returning Reeza Hendricks and Kagiso Rabada.
Stars’ lynchpin with the bat Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen’s failure in the last game resulted in them losing the game by 60 runs after they failed to chase down 5-198 set by the Cape Town Blitz.
Dan Vilas (29) and Daniel Christian (24) got starts but failed to capitalize on it. They are the bedrock of their middle-order and the Stars’ will hope for a substantial score which their pace trio of Rabada, Oliver and Beuran Hendricks can defend.
The game promises to be a battle between two strong bowling attacks and out of form batting unit. Whichever side bats well will certainly dictate the proceedings of the game.

Wicketkeeper: Gihahn Cloete, with 145 runs at an average of 36.25 is the second highest run-getter of the tournament. He will take up the wicket-keeping duties for my Dream11 team.
Batsmen: Rassie van der Dussen (101 runs) and Ryan Rickelton (107 runs) will open the batting while AB de Villiers, Theunis de Bruyn and Peter van Biljon will take up the middle-order duties.
