In the 11th match of the Vitality Blast T20, Leicestershire will take on Durham in the North Group fixture on Friday, July 06.
Leicestershire got off to a winning start to their 2018 Vitality Blast campaign, having overcome Northamptonshire by three wickets. Northamptonshire batted first, and on the back of Richard Levi (96 off 54 balls) and fifties from Josua Cob (56) & Alex Wakely (51 off 24 balls), posted a mammoth 3-218 in 20 overs. Chasing 219, everyone chipped in for Leicestershire spearheaded by skipper Colin Ackerman, who scored a sublime 31-ball-66 and along with Ben Raine (23 off 7 balls) pulled off an epic three-wicket win in the final over.
Leicestershire will now host Durham at Grace Road for their second fixture against Tom Latham-led Durham. The 2016 finalists, Durham finished ninth last season and would be looking for a turnaround this season under Latham. While Paul Collingwood will be their cornerstone in batting along with Latham, Durham will also have the services of South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir. Besides Tahir, South African. Gareth Harte will be their X-factor, along with Chris Rushworth (nine wickets in RL50 2018).
