Zimbabwe tour of South Africa, 2018
South Africa vs Zimbabwe, 1st T20I | SA vs ZIM WHO WILL WIN
After the 3-match ODI series, South Africa and Zimbabwe shift focus to the shortest format of the game as they travel to East London for the first of three T20 Internationals, starting on Monday.
Where:- Buffalo Park, East London
Match Timing:- Tuesday, October 09, 2018, 09:30 PM IST
On expected grounds, South Africa completed a 3-0 whitewash over their African neighbours but not before their fledgeling batting line-up consistently struggled on tricky surfaces throwing a lot of questions to the returning skipper Faf du Plessis and the team management.
However, they’ll be bolstered by the addition of Quinton de Kock and David Miller as both make their return to the side after being rested for the ODI series.
A few new faces have also been added into the Proteas squad for the T20I series. Highveld Lions batsman Rassie van der Dussen, who impressed in the Global T20 League in Canada (255 runs at 51.00) has earned a national call-up alongside Christiaan Jonker, who featured in two of the three ODIs against Zimbabwe.
On the bowling side of things, Junior Dala, who has impressed in his limited outings in South African colours (9 wickets in 4 games) gets another opportunity while Dane Paterson and Robbie Frylinck return to the setup after missing out on the recent Sri Lankan tour.
As for Zimbabwe, veteran fast bowler Christopher Mpofu makes his return to the side alongside Chamu Chibaba and all-rounder Neville Madziva, while Craige Ervine and Donald Tiripano miss out after a lacklustre showing in the ODI series.
