Zimbabwe tour of South Africa, 2018
South Africa vs Zimbabwe, 3rd ODI
After clinching the series with a 120-run win in Bloemfontein, South Africa will lock horns with Zimbabwe in a bid to claim a series whitewash on Saturday.
Where:- Boland Park, Paarl
Match Timing:- Saturday, October 06, 2018, 04:30 PM IST
Despite claiming the series 2-0, it has been far from an impressive performance by the Proteas with their batting vows exposed to the hilt. After barely scampering to a five-wicket win in the first ODI, their top-order faltered again in the second match and at 4-49 looked in all sorts of trouble, only to be revived by Dale Steyn’s dodged 85-ball-60 to take them to a respectable 198 in 47.3 overs.
The likes of Dean Elgar, Reeza Hendricks have not made use of the opportunities in the absence of Amla, du Plessis and Quinton de Kock and the third ODI offer them one last chance to out-up a show.
Just like their ‘Big Brother’, Zimbabwe has too faltered with their batting in both games. The last game provided them with the best possible chance to salvage a win but barring Masakadza (27) and Brendon Taylor (10), no frontline batsmen could post a double-digit score to get blown away by a rampaging Imran Tahir (6-24), who became the oldest bowler to claim an ODI hat-trick.
With the series already gone, it will be a case for South Africa to rest some of their frontline bowlers while the batters will look to out-up an improved show ahead of the impending tour of Australia. For Zimbabwe, it will be a case of salvaging some lost pride.

Here’s how both teams might line-up for SA vs ZIM, 2nd ODI:-
Wicket-keeper: Henrich Klaasen
Batsmen: Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Reeza Henricks, Christiaan Jonker, Faf du Plessis
All-rounders: JP Duminy, Andile Phehlukwayo
Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada/Lungi Ngidi, Imran Tahir, Dale Steyn
Wicket-keeper: Brendan Taylor
Batsmen: Hamilton Masakadza, Elton Chigumbura, Peter Moore, Craig Ervine
All-rounders: Soloman Mire, Sean Williams
Bowlers: Tendai Chatara, Kyle Jarvis, Brandon Mavuta, Donald Tiripano
Wicketkeeper:- Both Henrich Klaasen (44,1) and Brendon Taylor (7,10) have had an indifferent series thus far. You may opt for either of them in your Fantasy XI.
Batsmen:- Aiden Markram (62), Hamilton Masakadza (52), Khaya Zondo (21) and Christiaan Jonker (25) could be your ideal picks in an otherwise bowler-dominated series.
All-rounders:- JP Duminy (21) and Andile Phehlukwayo (3 wickets) will be the ideal choices for all-rounders.
Bowlers:- Tendai Chatara (5 wickets), Kyle Jarvis (2 wickets), Imran Tahir (8 wickets) and Dale Steyn, who made his comeback to the ODI set-up in the last game will be the ideal Fantasy picks.
Team 01:- Henrich Klaasen (Captain), Dale Steyn (Vice-Captain)
Henrich Klaasen could be an ideal choice as the captain. The wicket-keeper batsman scored a run-a-ball 44 on a difficult pitch and with the likes of Rabada and Ngidi in the ranks, expect him to grab a few catches behind the wickets.
Dale Steyn claimed 2 wickets and scored a crucial 60 runs in the last game.
Team 02:- Imran Tahir (Captain), Aiden Markram (Vice-captain)
Imran Tahir is the leading wicket-taker of the series. The leg-spinner ripped through the Zimbabwean batting line-up and claimed six wickets including a hattrick.
South Africa’s vice-captain, Aiden Markram (25, 35)has looked in good touch in what has been a bowler-dominated series.
