Mohammed Siraj, Shreyas Iyer likely to play Nehra’s farewell match- IND vs NZ T20

India’s T20 squad against New Zealand has been announced by the all-India senior selection committee. The selection committee has included two young and emerging cricketers; i.e., Mohammed Siraj and Shreyas Iyer; in the squad. At the same time, the squad comes up with heartbreaking news for the cricket lovers. Yes, the first T20I against New Zealand will be the last match of Ashish Nehra‘s Cricket Career. We are not going to see our favourite pace bowler in ODI, Test, T20I, or in IPL; he calls time on his 18-year-old competitive cricket career at Delhi.

India’s T20I Squad against New Zealand

Virat Kohli (Skipper), Rohit Sharma (VC), M.S. Dhoni (wk), Manish Pandey, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, K.L. Rahul, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ashish Nehra (only for the first 1st T20I).

Nehra made his Test debut against Sri Lanka at Colombo in 1999 and dismissed Marvan Atapattu. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe at Harare in 2001. ”It’s my own decision. Match on November 1 is in Delhi. There’s no bigger thing than to retire in front of your home crowd,” the player stated. ”Yes, Ashish has told both Ravi and Virat that he does not want to continue beyond November 1 when India plays New Zealand at the Feroz Shah Kotla. He feels, it’s the right time to move on,” the BCCI official said.
