In the two one day international games to be played in Nepal’s tour of Netherlands, the visitors failed to cling on to an easy target when they came to the crease to chase that target. The hosts, Netherlands was able to reach a score of 189 runs in 47.4 over. Owing to the contribution of Michael Rippon and Bas de Leede with the bat who added 81 runs on the boards while the other nine including extras helped them to reach that score. The guests were really tight when it came to bowling with the skipper Paras Khadka managing to take away four wickets in his 10 overs with an economy rate of 2.60.
The guests when came to bat they had their eyes on the prize and despite getting a solid start, their top batsmen failed to capitalize on that and their middle order till then end just collapsed like a house of cards against the deadly bowling attack of the hosts. With four batsmen going out on a duck, the guests only managed to reach to a score of 134 runs and fell short of the hosts by 55 runs.
Now as they headed into the final one day game, they would go all the way to get a victory in this game and lift up the morale of the players as well as the whole nation. Though this is only the beginning of the cricketing history in both these teams but either of the teams should not be taken lightly.
