India’s Sumit Sapra finishes 3rd in High Rollers
The 2018 Asia Poker League (APL) Road Series Vol 3 is underway and it is being played at the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City. Abhishek Paul picked two scores and he also won the Hyper Turbo Event for VND 34 million (INR 1.05 Lakh). He finished on 27th place in the VND 8 Billion GTD Main Event with a 27th place finish.
Sumit Sapra, India’s poker player closed out the series with a third-place finish in the High Rollers event for VND 849,230,000. Taking down the High Rollers was Korea’s Eunho Kwon who won the field of 141 runners for winning 699,250,000 after a three-way deal with Sapra and Tanaka Masatoshi.
Dhainesh Chainani, an Indian-origin player was another player from Indian roots to finish on 12th position in the KO Bounty 2 for VND 11,150,000. Hwang Sang Yeon, Duy Ho, Tran Huy Hoang, Ang Boon Seng, Lee Keun Woo, David Battersby and Sam Teck Choon Nh were among other players who won other side events.
About High Rollers:
The High-Rollers was the biggest buy-in event at the APL Road Series Vol. 3 with an entry of 141 entries giving around VND 33,000,000 buy-in for entering through one of the two starting flights. Opening day of the event witnessed the field coming down to 69 players.
At the end of Day 1, Sumit Sapra was sixth in chips among the survivors with a stack of 648, 000 while Malaysian poker player Sam Ng held the top spot with 1,096,000.
